Had my dinner at Laksania at JEM just now and I thought that it is just some normal store that is selling laksa. But surprisingly the laksa offered here is very good. I went there with my girlfriend and we ordered 3 different laksa and all of them taste very nice. They have two types of portion for their food which is regular and jumbo. Jumbo is just a larger portion. Each of the laksa only $4.90 for regular size. But the portion is just nice and won't be overwhelming to make one feels overload. We ordered, Sarawak Laksa, Penang Asam Laksa and Laksa Fried Noodle.
Sarawak Laksa |
Laksa Fried Noodle |
Penang Asam Laksa |
If you were to ask me to rank them accordingly, I would say that Laksa Fried Noodle will be the best among these 3, follow up by Penang Asam Laksa and Sarawak Laksa.
The Laksa Fried Noodle both taste and smell very good and it is best served warm. However, the prawns that come along with the noodle doesn't taste as good and it felt a little bit powdery after you start to chew it. As for the Penang Asam Laksa, the asam laksa soup taste really good but I think they put a little too much shrimp paste into it and made the laksa a little too sweet. As for the Sarawak laksa, it taste more like curry instead of what I thought laksa should taste. It is not bad, but not too good as well.
Other than laksa, we also ordered Chendol with Gula Melaka. It tastes pretty nice but it is served in a plastic cup which I don't think it should has been. Instead of a cup, a bowl will be better and easier to eat the chendol.
Overall, it is recommended to people who love laksa, the price is reasonable and the food taste good. The only drawn-backs are the seats there are very limited.
Currently there's only 2 branches available :
- Bugis+ (#04-04)
- JEM (#03-09, beside Shin Kushiya)
